Enzymes are large, highly specialized proteins produced by living cells that act as catalysts and enable cells to speed up chemical reactions.
Enzymes have been used for over 40 years as breakers in the oil and gas industry, but until relatively recently enzymatic breakers were not available that functioned optimally at the required pH and temperature conditions.
The first generation of super enzymes for the Oil and Gas industry were introduced in 1991 in order to improve cleanup of borate crosslinked fluids. In head-to-head independent laboratory testing, these enzymes out-performed conventional breakers in terms of proppant settling, retained conductivity and dynamic rheology.
Over the last 30 years, we have continued developing generations of enzymes and are actively working on our seventh generation from our original invention in 1991.
See how our comprehensive suite of enzymes to clean-up proppant pack and formation damage can help you achieve ultimate well productivity.
