Proppant-delivered production enhancement

Hallux Talon’s XLGUARD is the latest addition to a family of proppant-delivered chemical treatments for long-term production enhancement and production assurance following a hydraulic fracturing treatment. The XLGUARD technology delivers Hallux Talon’s proprietary enzyme systems directly to and throughout the in-situ proppant pack of the fracture network, without compromising fracture conductivity. In conjunction with Hallux Talon’s liquid enzyme systems, pumped to accelerate and enhance short-term cleanup and fluid recovery, XLGUARD provides additional medium to long-term cleanup. Based on an engineered ceramic proppant and added at low concentrations, XLGUARD provides effective delivery and controlled enzyme release, while maintaining optimal fracture conductivity, and compliments conventional liquid enzyme systems.

Avoid trapped fluid damage and lost production

Added throughout the treatment, XLGUARD can intimately contact potential areas of trapped fracturing fluid damage. Any gel-based fracturing fluid that becomes trapped in the pore spaces and pore throats of a proppant pack, can reduce the proppant permeability, fracture conductivity and effective fracture length, resulting in lower well productivity and ultimate recovery.

Improve fracturing fluid cleanup and recovery

Pumping Hallux Talon’s proprietary enzyme systems during hydraulic fracturing treatments has consistently proven to benefit fracture cleanup and fluid recovery. Adding XLGUARD to the proppant stages and directly throughout the propped fracture network augments fluid cleanup by targeting and accelerating the breakdown of any trapped gel-based fluids. Over the medium to longer term, the controlled release process enhances fracture fluid cleanup, and less gel-damage will ultimately lead to higher fracture conductivity and increased effective fracture length. Highly efficient and effective, the XLGUARD controlled release technology significantly lengthens treatment life versus alternatives and negates washout concerns.

Address multiple issues in a single treatment

Blending XLGUARD with other proppant-delivered technologies also allows for an application treatment to protect wells against long-term production issues, such as scale and salt deposition. A single treatment can be designed to enhance and safeguard the entire production system, from the fracture, through the wellbore and up to surface equipment, and for the life of the well.
